Man uses iPhone to revive bird

It’s hard to imagine a period before cell phones. Our own phones and our apps are capable of doing just about everything. Even saving life across species. These are truly powerful devices.

United kingdom tree surgeon Leon Timms found a tiny chaffinch lying in the grass. It is thought that your bird flew in to the solar panels on Timms’ top or hit certainly one of his windows. The bird was dazed together trouble breathing. Therefore Leon brought it straight into his home as well as started to stroke the actual bird, hoping to revive it. Luckily he had his smartphone using him.

It could be chance, but that appears unlikely. At least one chicken owes it’s life to this software now.

“I brought the chaffinch inside and started stroking him on my lap, and then I came up with the idea of playing it the sound of another chaffinch on my mobile phone app. I popped the app on and almost immediately the bird’s eyes opened and he seemed to become more alert … It definitely responded to the sound of another chaffinch.”

LG Optimus L7 Launched In Europe And Asia

LG has unveiled its new LG Optimus L7 Android smartphone in Europe and Asia, and it should be available in various European countries shortly. Just so you know, the LG Optimus L7 runs on the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and features a 4.3 inch multi-touch touchscreen display that can render up to 480 x 800 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, and features a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash.

Rumor: HTC and Facebook United for another smartphone?

The HTC Chacha was the Facebook phone that didn’t do as well as HTC and the folks at FB hoped it would. But rumors have been spreading over another smart phone to represent the Big Blue that is Facebook. Apparently, word has it that Facebook and HTC have teamed up to create a new smartphone that will run on it’s own platform exclusive to Facebook and might just be out by Q3 of 2012. The word is that this time, HTC will be taking out the big guns on the newest addition to the Facebook smart phone family. We are keeping our fingers crossed that not be as big of a let down as the last Facebook phone.

HTC Evo 3D 4G LTE Prototype Leaked

HTC has pulled the wraps off its new HTC EVO 4G LTE, and at the same time, a new design video for the said device. According to the guys over at The Verge, they have spotted a photo in the video hinting the features of the HTC Evo 4G LTE. It seems to have dual cameras and and a dual LED flash just like on the HTC Evo 3D. As of this writing, HTC has not confirmed any of this features and it could be just a prototype device that they don’t intend to release.

LG Nitro HD Hits AT&T Tomorrow

The LG Nitro HD is a threat to HTC devices and it will available over at AT&T on the 4th of December for only $250 on a new two year contract.

The LG Nitro HD features a 4.5 inch HD IPS display and it runs Android Gingerbread 2.3. It is powered by a dual core 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM 4GB of built in storage, an 8 megapixel camera, a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video conferencing, and a microSD card slot.

Hidden Smartphone App That Logs Your Data

Trevor Eckhart, a security researcher has discovered a hidden software from the company Carrier iQ that monitors and logs data on a number of smartphones. He discovered this software on his device, and after posting the information online Carrier iQ threatened him with legal action, luckily the Electronic Frontier Foundation helped him out, and Carrier IQ decided to back down.

It is said that Carrier IQ logs information that is entered into the device, including the content of text messages, etc, and it is not clear what particular privacy policy covers this hidden smartphone app.

This is quite shocking to discover how much information is collected by this piece of software, which is basically without users’ permission.
